Confidentiality

Your privacy is guaranteed.

The Confidential Relationships Act (Revised Statutes of Anguilla, Chapter C85) provides stringent penalties for the improper release of confidential information, whether by private individuals or public officials.

There are no tax treaties between Anguilla and any foreign countries and, unlike many of its competitors, Anguilla does not have agreements with any country to share fiscal information.

There is no requirement to register a trust, and no statutory means by which the public can learn about the existence or terms of any private trust. Furthermore, there are no periodic trust reporting requirements of any kind.

The governments of Anguilla and the United States have ratified a mutual legal assistance treaty that extends to the exchange of information between them regarding activities considered criminal in both jurisdictions. The treaty is aimed specifically at keeping Anguilla free of the drug-related and money-laundering taint that has embarrassed some jurisdictions. As Anguilla has no income or capital gains tax, nor currency exchange regulations, foreign exchange and tax offences cannot legitimately be investigated in Anguilla.
